It’s estimated that 40% of migraine sufferers could benefit from preventive treatments but fewer than a third use them.
Researchers say some prescription drugs are effective in preventing migraines or reducing their severity.
Over-the-counter drugs like n-saids, and the herb butterbur, also appear to prevent migraines.
