Not all adults need to be screened for hearing loss — according to a new report.

Experts say there isn’t enough evidence for or against routine screening among adults over fifty, and say hearing loss is extremely common after middle age.

The latest review finds there isn’t any benefit from screening adults who don’t have symptoms of hearing loss.

Experts say there’s no proof screening will prevent the condition, but people who are experiencing symptoms should still be looked at.
