HAPPENING NOW:
Give the gift of health on this Giving Tuesday

On this Giving Tuesday Emily Vukovic was at Ron Joyce Children’s Health Centre to learn about Hamilton Health Sciences Foundation’s Gift of Health campaign.
The campaign helps to raise funds to enhance patient care and outcomes at Hamilton Health Sciences hospitals, including McMaster Children’s Hospital and the General.
Emily met Sloane and her mom Kerisha, who received care at McMaster Children’s Hospital and Ron Joyce after being born premature with club feet and congenital knee dislocation. Emily also talked to Lowana Lee, Sloane’s occupational therapist, about how the tools, resources, and services at RJCHC, which are funded by the campaign, have helped Sloane.
Emily also met Karl Yip, who following a head injury, had an MRI at the General that detected a colloid cyst posing an imminent threat. Thanks to the MRI, Karl received life-saving brain surgery before going to the Regional Rehabilitation Centre for mental rehab and to relearn motor skills.
Patients in Hamilton receive the best possible care thanks to donations that allow Hamilton Health Sciences to buy equipment, renovate, research, and educate.
