While 2020 is a thing of the past, travel restrictions don’t seem to be going anywhere, but that doesn’t mean that Canadian families can’t go on a global adventure this Spring Break. Food and travel blogger Manon Lapierre shared ways to provide exciting global experiences in the comfort of your own home.

Recipe for Tahini Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp. (4 g) baking powder

  • ½ tsp. (3 g) kosher salt

  • ¾ cup (180 g) unsalted butter, room temperature

  • ¾ cup (150 g) sugar

  • 3 Tbsp. (45 mL) honey

  • ¾ cup (187.5 mL) Al’Fez Tahini

  • 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Place racks in upper and lower thirds of oven and preheat to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.

  3. Using an electric mixer on medium speed, beat butter, sugar, and honey in a large bowl until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

  4. Beat in tahini, then add dry ingredients in two batches, beating after each addition until fully combined. Dough will be slightly sticky.

  5. Scoop out heaping tablespoons of dough (about 1 oz.) and roll into balls.

  6. Place sesame seeds in a small bowl. Dip tops of balls in sesame seeds, pressing to adhere, and place, sesame side up, on two parchment-lined baking sheets, spacing about 2″ apart.

  7. Bake cookies, rotating baking sheets halfway through, until golden brown, 13 to 15 minutes.

  8. Let cool on baking sheets (cookies will firm as they cool).
