There is much more than just planes to explore at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in Mount Hope.

Emily Vukovic visited the museum where she got to test out her flying skills in the Fly Zone, which is a VR simulated flight. She also got to go up in a plane, which is something you can do if you are a member of the CHWM. It is an experience unlike any other and also makes a great gift.

It’s not just planes that you can see there though. On now is an exhibit called ‘Even a Dog Enlists – Animals in Wartime Propaganda’. The exhibit features posters that really speak to people and have been found in different auctions and represent symbolic examples from WWI and WWII. The exhibit is on until March 18, 2024 and is free with admission to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum.

And this Sunday there is an event called Vintage Wheels & Wings happening from 9am-2pm. The event shows off plenty of different vintage cars that are parked on the tarmac, as well as the museum’s vintage aircraft.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum is open Wednesday-Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm.
