Few breast cancer survivors choose reconstruction

Breast cancer experts in Toronto have been instrumental in launching the first annual National Breast Reconstruction Awareness day — or BRA day.

It’s to promote the benefits and options now available to survivors. According to most recent statistics, less than 10 percent of women who undergo mastectomies follow through with reconstruction. Medical experts would like to see that change.
