HAPPENING NOW:

It’s a sweet time to be in Muskoka.
Emily Vukovic visited four spots on the Muskoka Maple Trail, who are all using locally harvested maple syrup in delicious food and treats.
Her first stop took her to Affogato Café and Gelato, that are serving up maple oat sorbetto, maple spice lattes, and a Muskoka Fog.
On her second stop Emily took a Muskoka Maple Trail Wagon Ride at Back of Beyond Equine Centre. The ride takes you into the Muskoka forest in the tradition of the original Muskoka settlers and ends at a campfire where you can roast marshmallows and sip on maple syrup infused hot chocolate.
The third stop was to Sugarbush Hill Maple Farm for a special treat- the Maple Creemee. Sugarbush Hill is the only place in Ontario to make creemee. While there Emily also saw maple syrup being made that was tapped from their 3200 maple trees on the property. TripAdvisor rated them #1 of 100 Things to Do in Muskoka.
And the last stop was to Deerhurst Resort, who are celebrating 30 years, to check out their Maple Sugar Shack. There Emily tried their French toast, but they offer plenty of maple inspired foods at their restaurants.
The Muskoka Maple Trail runs until April 28th.
