For many people this can be an expensive time of year.

While many set a budget to buy gifts, decorations and for family dinners, for some the holiday season also means giving to charity. It’s estimated there are about 85-thousand charities in Canada. So if you want to give, how do you decide where your dollars will go? The experts Melissa Raftis asked say doing some research is a good place to start.
