HAPPENING NOW:
Changing eligibility for Canadian blood donations

Canadian Blood Services has changed the eligibility criteria for donors. Potential donors who lived or spent time in the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland or France in the 1980s and 1990s were previously ineligible to donate blood in Canada because of the mad cow outbreak there.
As of December 4th, Canadian Blood Services received Health Canada approval to change this criteria and allow this group to donate.
To talk about this change and what it means to him, we welcomed new donor James Sharman.
