Caledonia will be ‘chili’ next weekend as people compete for best chili bragging rights

It may be warm this weekend, but next weekend in Caledonia it’s going to be chili.

On April 22nd local restaurants, community members and municipal organizations will be competing for the bragging rights of having the best chili at the Knights of Columbus 7th Annual Caledonia Community Chili-Fest.

The chili will be judged by three culinary experts.

This fundraiser was started to help families in Haldimand County who are less fortunate, in that they require major medical treatment, special needs and financial support. This year they hope to have over 1000 people attend and raise over $40,000.

Along with the chili, the event will also have live music, raffles, auctions and other exhibits from local businesses.

The Caledonia Community Chili-Fest takes place at the Riverside Exhibition Centre at the Caledonia Fair Grounds Saturday April 22nd from 4 to 8 pm.
