Most of us view arthritis as something that comes with age.
But for an estimated 6,000 Canadian children, it’s already a part of their lives. And though its symptoms periodically flare up and die down, the disease is a major player in how they function day to day. Maria Hayes spoke to one young sufferer:
The Arthritis Society is one of several bodies raising funds for research. Dr Tania Cellucci says there’s a lot of buzz surrounding non-medication therapies, particularly surrounding diet. She hopes to see future studies to determine what if any impact diet would have on managing symptoms.
