Adopt this adorable black kitten from Oakville Milton Humane Society

Kayla Sheremeta from the Oakville and Milton Humane Society joins Annette Hamm on Morning Live with 6-month-old Raven who is looking for her “furever” home.

Raven was found in a marina earlier this year and was very scared of people. Now she is a soft, sweet and playful kitten.

“When she first came to us, she wouldn’t let us hold her. She didn’t really want to be pet. But now she loves attention,” Sheremeta said.

This adorable black kitten is a semi-feral kitten, which means she has likely never lived with people before. But over the past few months Raven has been socializing a lot with the staff, medical team and volunteers at the Oakville and Milton Humane Society.

If you already have a cat, there is no need to worry because Sheremeta said Raven would do well with another confident cat.

“She’s going to need a cat that will keep up with her,” Sheremeta said. “A senior cat is probably not ideal but a confident one that’s a right fit for her could do really well.”

Sheremeta added that Raven is suitable for an owner with experience taking care of a cat.

“She may not be the best first-time cat for someone because she still has that little bit of a nervous edge,” Sheremeta said. “She’s not always great at communicating with her body like other cats are.”

Raven is spayed, fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and has had dewormer treatment.

She did suffer a leg injury in her early life but it has healed following rehabilitation.
