HAPPENING NOW:
3 wines to serve this holiday season
Whether you are hosting a dinner or giving a gift, wine is the perfect option this holiday season.
Wine critic Carolyn Evans Hammond joined Annette Hamm on Morning Live to share the three wines to serve or give this Christmas and how to easily wrap them.
White Wine
Evans recommended Castello della Sala Bramito Chardonnay as the perfect white wine to serve your guests or enjoy yourself after wrapping some Christmas gifts.
“Bramito is a versatile wine, it’s very easy to enjoy, it’s unwooded, it’s pure chardonnay and it’s by one of the most trusted producers in Italy, Antinori,” Evans said.
Red Wine
If you’re looking for a red wine, Evans said Bread and Butter Pinot Noir is a great option.
“It has enough stuffing to appeal to people who like big reds and yet the elegance that you want for a classic pinot noir,” Evans said.
This red wine pairs well with roast beef, turkey and mushroom dishes, according to Evans.
Sparkling Wine
The last wine Evans recommended was Henry Of Pelham Cuvée Catharine Rosé Brut.
This Ontario-made sparkling wine goes well with flavours of strawberry rhubarb pie, nuts and a creamy textured mousse.
“It’s 80 per cent pinot noir and 20 per cent chardonnay,” Evans said.
