3 tips to help parent a child with ADHD

Parenting a child with ADHD is done on a totally different level. Parenting expert Michelle McVittie joined us to explain that if you have a child with ADHD, understanding these tips will help you manage:

1. Children with ADHD want to do well, even when they make the same mistakes over and over again. It’s like having a Ferrari with bicycle brakes. Their brain is under construction until 30.
2. They are up to 3 years behind in their executive functioning skills such as emotional control and impulsivity.
3. They need structure, systems and tools to do well. Consistency is key. Timers, visuals, checklists etc.
