Imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has died

Alexei Navalny – who fought against corruption and staged massive anti-Kremlin protests as one of Vladimir Putin’s biggest foes – has died in a Russian prison.
He had been serving a 19-year prison sentence and was just 47 years old.
His death today brings new criticism towards the Russian president less than a month before an election that is all but certain to give him another six years in power.
