Four people are facing charges after officers seized heroin and fentanyl during a traffic stop in Hamilton.

Shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, police say a “known suspended driver” was pulled over in the area of King St. East and Holton Ave. North. Officers arrested the 26-year-old woman and removed her from the car.

Police say as an officer returned to the vehicle, he noticed the two rear passengers were attempting to hide something.

“Those items were later identified as a digital scale and a clear baggie, both containing a white powder residue,” said Hamilton police.

Police searched the vehicle and found several items containing suspected heroin and fentanyl as well as drug paraphernalia.

A 60-year-old man, a 37-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The 26-year-old woman appeared in court on Monday while the other three people have been scheduled for future court dates.
