Hamilton native Shai Gilgeous-Alexander selected as 2023 NBA All-Star reserve

OKC Thunder guard and Hamilton native, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is headed to his first NBA All-Star game.

On Thursday, TNT reported that Gilgeous-Alexander has been selected by the league’s coaches as an All-Star reserve.

The 24-year-old attended Sir Allan MacNab secondary school in Hamilton before transferring to Hamilton Heights Christian Academy in Chattanooga, Tennessee for his junior and senior years to improve his basketball skills.

SGA ranks fifth in the NBA in scoring and fifth in free-throw percentage.

The 2023 NBA All-Star Game will be held Feb. 19 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
