Group of youths shot with paintball gun, robbed: Hamilton police

Hamilton police are investigating after someone shot a group of kids with a paintball gun on the Hamilton Mountain.

Police say four boys were walking in the area of Concession St. and Upper Wellington St. around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.

A vehicle drove past the group, proceeded to turn around and drive back towards them.

Police say a passenger in the vehicle shot what is believed to be a paintball gun at the boys.

The four victims scattered but the driver following one of the youths as he tried to flee the area. The boy was robbed of his wallet and suffered an injury to his eye. He was treated in hospital for non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators do not know if the victims knew their attackers but the youths said they did not recognize the vehicle or the people inside.

Police believe a grey car, possibly a Dodge, with two black stripes may be involved in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
