Grandad’s Donuts in Hamilton reopens Friday after major renovations

First Published:

Grandad’s Donuts in Hamilton’s north end reopened its doors on National Donut Day following major renovations.

After a two-month shutdown, many eagerly formed queues in anticipation of the 7 a.m. Friday opening of the popular doughnut shop located on James St. North.

Twenty nine of their famous doughnuts ranging from Apple Fritters to Walnut Crunches are back on the shelf.

Those who got there early say they missed their favourite pastry spot.

Grandad’s Donuts closed in March after delays in getting permits for renovations.

The shop renovated its customer space, introduced a pickup window and expanded its kitchen to double its production.
