While the shows at Hamilton’s Fringe Festival are sure to delight audiences, the festival is also about mentoring the city’s emerging artists.
The emerging artist Takeover or “eat” connects new local artists with experienced playwright and performer Anna Chatterton.
Chatterton’s work has been showcased across the country. She worked with local artists on a “found art workshop” to create a devised performance based entirely on collaboration.
The group spent their day writing in Redchurch Cafe and then moved into Gore park to add movement to their scenes.
The final product will be showcased Sunday under the Fringe tent in the park. Participants say working with a mentor allows young artists to safely take risks, play around, and explore their craft.
