Fire Chief David Cunliffe says the blaze was well involved by the time fire crews from the Rockton Station arrived.

The address was in a non-hydrant area, so volunteer crews from four other stations were dispatched to get water to the front lines.

Chief Cunliffe says firefighters quickly went to work to protect another large warehouse that was nearby. There were three tractor trailers and another transport trailer in this unit. Crews were successful and the building only suffered minor damage.

The main fire was brought under control in about 40 minutes. There have been no reports of injuries.

Cunliffe says the involved structure is a total loss. He added that welding was being done onsite and is the suspected cause of the fire.
