Downtown Hamilton robbery suspect arrested

Hamilton police have arrested and charged a man in relation to a string of street robberies in downtown Hamilton.

Police say the robberies targeted victims that were walking alone or waiting for public transit between Aug. 21 and Aug. 24.

They say the robber approached the victims on a bike and snatched their cellphone or attempted to grab their backpack.

Police have arrested 38-year-old Ronald Fidler of Hamilton without incident and charged him with 2 counts of robbery and failure to attend court.

Hamilton police are asking anyone with information to contact them immediately.
