Youth charged with multiple break & enters in Ancaster and Waterdown

Hamilton police have charged a 15-year-old male involved in break and enters in the Waterdown and Ancaster areas.

Between May 2 and May 6, the suspects entered several unlocked vehicles and used the garage door openers to gain entry into the homes. Once inside the suspects targeted car keys, cash and credit cards. Three vehicles were also stolen from the driveways.

On May 7, police arrested a 15-year-old male at a home on the West Mountain. The next day they returned with a search warrant and located a variety of stolen property including three replica firearms, brass knuckles and prepaid cards. Two of the three stolen vehicles were located a couple blocks away.

The youth faces multiple charges including, commit theft over $5000 x3, B&E with intent x5, possession over $5000 x2, fraudulent use of a credit card and possession of a prohibited weapon.

Hamilton police expect further arrests and charges will be made.
