Hamilton Food Share estimates there is a need for enough food hampers this holiday season to feed close to 32,000 people in the city.

That’s up four percent from last year. We caught up with a group of young volunteers, working to help feed their community.

This was more than a lesson in working together. It’s an exercise in giving back.

Across other organizations, Hamilton Food Share estimates there is a need for more than 12,800 hampers this year — up 4 percent from last year.

And with an estimated 14,000 children in Hamilton turning to food banks this season, it’s an opportunity for these students to help their peers.
