Young child struck, killed by tractor in Waterloo Region

Waterloo police say a tractor struck and killed a young child in Woolwich Township on Monday morning.

Officers say the fatal collision happened shortly after 10 a.m. on a property in the area of Sandy Hills Dr. and Arthur St. North.

Investigators say a 41-year-old man was reversing the tractor when it hit the child.

The kid was taken to an out-of-region hospital where she later died. The tractor driver was not injured.
