Workers walk at Milton contractor to American military

A Milton company that makes parts for the United States military is facing a strike by workers who say they’re done retreating.

Northstar Aerospace – formerly Spar Aerospace – makes highly specialized gears and parts for American Apache attack helicopters.

135 Members of CAW local 112 walked off the job at midnight, after nearly three weeks of negotiations with the company.

Union officials say workers at the plant have taken pay cuts and concessions in their last two contracts, to secure the military contract for the plant; and they will not accept the company position that more cuts are necessary.
