Woman on life support after being pulled from Stoney Creek community pool

A Hamilton woman is reported to be in critical condition and on life support after being pulled from a community pool in Stoney Creek on Monday night.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Valley Park Community Centre on Paramount Drive.

Police say the 36-year-old Hamilton woman was pulled from the deep end of the pool and taken to hospital by paramedics after CPR was performed and she had no vital signs.

The cause of the near-drowning is under investigation. Foul play is not suspected.
