Woman killed after being hit by GO train in Burlington

Halton police say a female pedestrian was fatally struck on the tracks of a GO Transit train in Burlington on Sunday.

The woman was reportedly hit on the line near Fairview St. and Guelph Ln. around 5 p.m.

The GO Transit Lakeshore West line was temporarily stopped due to this incident and reopened about two hours later.

GO Transit made buses available at the Appleby GO Station to accommodate travelers.

Police say they continue to investigate this incident and anyone with additional information is encouraged to contact investigators.
