Woman in critical condition following Red Hill Valley Parkway crash

Hamilton police say a woman in her late 60s was taken to hospital in critical condition after a two-vehicle crash on the Red Hill Valley Parkway Monday morning.

Emergency crews responded shortly after 7 a.m. to the collision that happened on the RHVP north of Barton St. near the Queen Elizabeth Way.

Hamilton police Const. Krista-Lee Ernst says the woman was unresponsive at the scene and people pulled over on the highway to try to resuscitate her.

The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.

The northbound RHVP at Barton St. was closed for nearly eight hours Monday, but it has now reopened.
