Woman, 70, fatallly struck by SUV in Oakville

Halton police are investigating after a woman was struck and killed by a vehicle in Oakville.

Emergency crews were called to a serious collision in the area of Bronte Rd. and Khalsa Gate at 8:18 p.m. Thursday.

Police say a 70-year-old woman from Oakville was crossing Bronte Rd. when she was struck by a southbound black Cadillac SUV.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the driver of the SUV remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken over the investigation.
