LONDON — Police in London, Ont., say a woman has been charged with criminal negligence after she allegedly drove a car into the wall of a shopping mall gym last Friday and injured six people inside.

Police say one person was pinned under the car after it slammed through a brick wall at Sherwood Forest Mall and into a GoodLife Fitness gym where people were taking a class.

Seven people, including the driver, were taken to hospital with varying injuries and four have now been discharged.

They say a 59-year-old London woman has been charged with six counts of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and appeared in court Monday.

London Police Chief Thai Truong said Friday that investigators have evidence the vehicle accelerated into the building.

Police say they continue to investigate the incident and anyone who saw the crash or has video footage is asked to contact them.
