VIDEO: The more Canada-U.S. relations evolve, the more conditions appear to arise. Ottawa may be facing a new pressure tactic from the White House after the American ambassador to the Canadian government signaled consequences if the Carney government doesn’t commit to purchasing their F-35 fighter jets. During an interview with the CBC, Pete Hoekstra says if a deal doesn’t happen, their NORAD arrangement could be altered and the White House may send more jets into Canadian airspace to fight off potential threats.
