What’s open & closed Thanksgiving Day

Monday’s Thanksgiving holiday means the usual changes to the routine as most people get a statutory day off.

There’s no mail delivery, but electricity will be at the off-peak rate all day. And in most areas, garbage and recycling collection will be delayed a day all week.

Government offices, libraries, banks, childcare centres, the LCBO and beer stores will all be closed, along with most grocery & retail stores.

Malls in tourist-designated areas will be open, including Vaughan Mills, the Eaton Centre, Square One, Bramalea City Centre, and the Canada One Factory Outlet in Niagara Falls.

As for getting around, most transit services are running on Sunday/Holiday schedules, including GO Transit.
