What’s open and closed this Canada Day

Here’s a look at what is open and closed in our region on Canada Day.

CLOSED

  • Banks, government offices and post offices;
  • Most LCBO locations are closed;
  • Libraries are closed;
  • The Farmers’ Market is closed;
  • Most grocery stores and malls are closed;
  • Niagara Region Transit is not operating due to the holiday;
  • There will be no recycling or garbage pickup in Halton or Hamilton on Friday. Pick up will be one day later for the rest of the week; and
  • There are no changes to garbage collection in Niagara.

OPEN

  • GO Transit will be running on a Saturday schedule;
  • CF Toronto Eaton Centre will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.;
  • Some major tourist attractions will be open including Canada’s Wonderland, Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, and Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum;
  • Some Beer Store locations are open;
  • St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canals Centre will be open;
  • Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) will be operating on a Sunday schedule service level;
  • Oakville Transit will provide holiday service; and
  • Outdoor pools, splash pads and playgrounds.
