Here’s a look at what’s open and closed for Good Friday (April 3) and Easter Sunday (April 5).
City buses in Hamilton, Halton, Niagara Falls and St. Catharines are running on a Sunday or Holiday schedule.
The last trip out of downtown Hamilton will be at midnight, and the routes 12 Wentworth and 42 Mohawk East will not be running Friday, but will resume Monday.
GO Transit is also running on a Sunday schedule.
There are no changes to garbage collection in the Niagara region.
Banks, government offices and libraries will be closed.
Canada Post will be closed Friday and on Monday, including mail collection and delivery.
There will be no recycling or garbage collection in Hamilton or Halton, with pick-ups scheduled for Friday happening Saturday instead.
Welland and Fort Erie transit will not be running.
Most grocery stores, malls, LCBO and Beer Stores are closed for both Good Friday and Easter.
The Hamilton Farmers’ Market confirmed it will be closed Friday.
Hamilton’s recreational facilities and arenas will be closed for both Friday and Monday.
There are several events happening across Hamilton to celebrate Easter weekend, including the Waterdown Easter Egg Hunt at 10 a.m., the National Service Dog Easter Egg Hunt for dogs at Joe Sam’s Leisure Park at 11 a.m., and the Binbrook Egg Hunt at the Binbrook Agricultural Society from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
