Welland house fire

People managed to escape without injuries from an overnight house fire in Welland.

The flames started in an attached garage at a house on Mathews Road just after midnight.

The garage had been converted into a living space.

One person was sent to hospital with smoke inhalation.

The cause and estimate of damage are still under investigation.
