Welcome centre for Ukrainians fleeing the war opens on the Hamilton Mountain

Hamilton is now a temporary home to hundreds of Ukrainians who have fled the war, and more are expected to come.

The city along with local community organizations have come together to open up a Ukraine welcome centre on the Hamilton Mountain.

The welcome centre is located at the Ukrainian Catholic Church on Upper Wentworth Street.

The newcomers can find information on housing, schools, healthcare, childcare, and even get the social insurance number they need in order to work.

The Ukraine welcome centre will open up on an as-needed basis.
