Weather advisory in effect for Hamilton, Halton, Niagara regions

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Hamilton, Halton and Niagara regions.

The agency says snow is expected to begin Monday afternoon and may be heavy at times.

The snow may become mixed with ice pellets early this evening before transitioning to light rain or drizzle near midnight.

Additionally, strong winds gusting up to 70 km/h are also forecast to develop today and continue into Tuesday morning in Halton.

Environment Canada says travel may be hazardous due to sudden changes in the weather and drivers are asked to be prepared for the changing road conditions.
