City of Brantford says the Ministry of Transportation is expected to begin repairs on the Wayne Gretzky Parkway bridge mid-June.

MTO officials believe the work will be completed this summer. All lanes on the parkway will be reopen after completion.

The bridge over Highway 403 was struck multiple times over the past two years.

It was most recently hit on May 9 by a commercial vehicle carrying construction equipment.

The bridge was also hit by oversized loads in December 2021 and January 2022.
