Watermain break near McMaster Children’s hospital

A huge watermain break near McMaster Children’s hospital forced the evacuation of all cars in the underground parking lot.

Just before 4 p.m. water gushed from the streets on Forsyth Ave. near Main St. The flooding caused the hospital’s parking garage to fill with about 12 inches of water.

City crews were able to turn the water off before 6 p.m. but a huge sinkhole remains.

Forsyth Ave. remains closed between Main St. and Sterling St.
