Hwy. 403 on-ramp in Brant County reopens after severe flooding

The Highway 403 on-ramp in Brant County has reopened following severe flooding Wednesday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) initially said around 2 a.m. that the Highway 403 westbound on-ramp from Rest Acres Road southbound was closed due to flooding from the watermain break.

However, officials tell CHCH News on Thursday that the flooding was not caused by a watermain break. Instead, it was likely due to a combination of heavy water volume after Tuesday’s weather and ongoing Ministry of Transportation Ontario (MTO) work in the area.

Drivers were advised to find alternate routes for their morning commute. All lanes reopened shortly before noon.
