WATCH: “Overwhelming” response to call for birthday greetings for Sarah

A call to bring some birthday cheer to a young girl prompted an overwhelming response.
In mid-November, Norfolk County OPP Const. Ed Sanchuk put out a tweet asking for birthday cards for Sarah, an 11-year-old girl who has been diagnosed with cancer for the fifth time.
People from across the province, the country and around the world answered the call.
Sarah’s 12th birthday is on Saturday and Sanchuk will be delivering the thousands of cards and gifts with his own family.
The response was overwhelming after the #OPP put out a call 4 #help, for a little girl fighting #Cancer for the 5th time. The result was astounding! In just 2 wks, hundreds of cards along with gifts were collected. I am so proud of the generosity/spirit of giving. #NorfolkOPP ^es pic.twitter.com/RT3ycgLAzV

Sanchuk says he has no connection to the family and found out about Sarah through social media.
There is a GoFundMe to help the family.
