WATCH LIVE: Prime Minister Trudeau gives COVID-19 update at 11:30 a.m.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will provide an update on COVID-19 in Canada on Tuesday.

Trudeau is scheduled to address Canadians at 11:30 a.m.

He will be joined by Minister of Public Services and Procurement Anita Anand, Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Theresa Tam, and Deputy Chief Public Health Officer of Canada Dr. Howard Njoo.

It comes as parts of the country have moved to loosen restrictions, as regional COVID-19 situations continue to trend downward and show signs of improvement.

Quebec lifted the last remaining emergency lockdown measures imposed on southern hotspots on Monday.

Saskatchewan will begin to relax capacity limits on retail, personal care services and restaurants on June 20, now that 70 per cent of residents 30 and up have been vaccinated with at least one dose.

Most of Alberta’s students will return to in-person learning Tuesday after they were switched to two weeks online to stem a surge in hospital admissions.
