Two vaccination clinics in Hamilton will now be accepting walk-ins for children aged five to 11.

The mountain vaccine clinic at CF Lime Ridge Mall as well as the vaccine clinic at the Centre on Barton.

The city says any residents aged five to 11 can walk into one of the clinics and receive a dose of Pfizer vaccine.

The clinic at Lime Ridge is on the upper level, above the food court in the former Hudson’s Bay home store and is open daily from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The Centre on Barton clinic is located between The Brick and Giant Tiger and is open from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Hamilton healthcare partners and organizations from across the community continue to work around the clock to plan and evolve this significant expansion of local COVID-19 vaccine capacity to ensure as many Hamiltonians as possible, as quickly as possible, are able to receive the strong protection getting fully vaccinated and receiving a third dose of vaccine provides against COVID-19 and the highly-transmissible Omicron variant,” said the city of Hamilton in a news release. “Physicians, nurses, pharmacists and non-clinical staff alike are bringing the best of our community to light and stepping up in these efforts to expand Hamilton’s COVID-19 vaccination campaign in a concerted effort to sustain an extremely strained healthcare system for the benefit of us all.”

Nearly 40 per cent of children aged five to 11 in Hamilton have received a first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Roughly 85 per cent of eligible Hamiltonians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 and 79.8 per cent are fully vaccinated.

More than 1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered, including 189,692 third and booster doses.
