Wainfleet man arrested on child pornography charges

Niagara police say a 27-year-old man is facing child pornography charges following a 10-months-long investigation.

Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Internet Child Exploitation began looking into the sexual exploitation of children back in May 2019.

They concluded their investigation earlier this month and arrested Alex Trudel, of Wainfleet, on Wednesday.

Trudel has been charged with two counts of child pornography.

He is expected to appear in court for a bail hearing later Thursday.
