A 37 year old Hamilton man is recovering in hospital after he was stabbed in the city’s eastern core at King and Sherman early Thursday morning. Police are looking for a man and a woman who may be responsible.
Surveillance video from King and Sherman shortly before 4 am shows a man falling and tumbling along the ground, pursued by two others. The attack appears to continue and eventually move off screen. A third person then runs into the frame.
“When [police] arrived on scene we discovered a 37 year old male with life threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital.”
The victim had been stabbed.
So far no weapon has been recovered. Police say the man’s condition has since improved and he is expected to recover. However, he’s not yet well enough to tell police what happened before the attack.
“We believe that the suspects and the victim were involved in some sort of interaction prior to the physical altercation. At this point in time we are able to say we believe this was a targeted incident.”
Police are still canvassing for witnesses.
Both attackers appear to be white. The man is about 5’9″ with a medium build. He’s in his twenties, unshaven, and wearing dark clothing. The woman is about 5’7″ with a medium build, also in her twenties and wearing dark clothing. She has straight black hair that falls past her shoulders.
“There were three people in that video; at this point the role of the third person is yet to be determined however we have two suspects we believe were involved.”
Anyone with information should call police.
