Victim cornered, assaulted by armed man: Niagara police

Niagara police say a man is facing charges after an altercation turned violent in Niagara Falls.
Officers were called to a home in the area of Ontario Ave. and Seneca St. around 8 p.m. on Monday.
Police say the victim was leaving the home of an acquaintance when an altercation occurred. They say the victim was cornered by a man who was carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
The victim suffered minor injuries including lacerations to the face and was threatened by the man before being told to leave.
Investigators executed a search warrant at the suspect’s house and discovered a pistol-style pellet gun that police believe was used during the altercation.
Sandro Tomazinic, 28, of Niagara Falls has been arrested and faces a slew of charges including assault with a weapon, uttering threats and forcible confinement.
Tomazinic is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 12.
