The first official trailer for the fan-funded Veronica Mars movie has been released. Set 10 years after the series began, Veronica (Kristen Bell) is compelled to return to her hometown after hearing that her old boyfriend (Jason Dohring) has been accused of murder.

The film, set to hit theatres March 14, was revived by the show’s creator Rob Thomas and star Kristen Bell through Kickstarter, where it broke many of the site’s fundraising records. It became the fastest project to reach the $1-million mark and raised its goal of $2-million in under 10 hours. On the strength of 91 585 individual donations, the campaign brought in just over $5.5-million.
