Vanier cup is coming to Steeltown

It’s official, the Vanier Cup is coming back to Hamilton. The CIS made announcement this morning.
The 2016 and ’17 championship games will be played at Tim Horton’s field. Vanier Cup organizing committee chair and McMaster athletic director Glen Grunwald says Hamilton invested in the stadium and it’s paying off.
“Something that’s unique about sports is it can bring a community together and that’s what we hope to do with this event. To bring our community together, to really showcase this field and what’s going on in Hamilton and what a great place it is here.”
This year’s game will be held on November 26th. The date of next year’s event will be decided in the next few months. Hamilton last hosted the Vanier cup in 2008.
