Urgent repairs causes water disruption in St. Catharines

There was disruption in water service due to urgent repairs in St. Catharines Monday evening.

City official said crews began urgent repairs on the valve connection between city and regional mains at First Street Louth and Grapeview Drive.

Water service was turned off earlier than anticipated due to valve issues and a water truck was stationed at 5 p.m. at Grapeview Public School to assist locals who needed water.

Residents were are asked to bring their own containers for water collection.

The City of St. Catharines posted on X Jan. 14 that repairs were completed in the early morning hours.

“Water service was restored slowly due to the size of isolation but all service has been restored. There remains some roadwork in the area to complete,” the statement said.
